An Order Management System (OMS) acts as a central hub to control workflows surrounding orders. An OMS holds inventory data (or work closely with a system that does) so they can update the quantity remaining when each order is received. Order data is pooled together from multiple sales channels such as marketplaces and eCommerce platforms. An OMS may provide overlapping functionality to shipping and fulfillment services.
